Key Stage One Trip to Hoylake – A Day to Remember!
Our Key Stage One children had an absolutely fantastic day on their visit to Hoylake! The sun was shining, the sea air was fresh, and the children were full of excitement and curiosity from the moment we arrived.
One of the highlights of the day was our visit to the Hoylake Lifeboat Station. The children were fascinated to learn all about the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) and the incredible work they do to save lives at sea. They got to see the Hannah Boden, Hoylake's powerful Shannon-class lifeboat, up close and learn how it launches from the beach using a specially designed launch and recovery system.
The volunteers at the station were amazing – explaining how the crew are on call 24/7, what kind of equipment they use, and how important teamwork and bravery are in their rescues. The children asked brilliant questions and listened with wide-eyed interest throughout the visit!
Afterwards, we spent some time on the beach collecting shells, playing games, and enjoying the beautiful Wirral coastline. The children were an absolute credit to the school – polite, engaged, and so enthusiastic.
A massive thank you to the staff, our brilliant parent helpers, and of course the RNLI volunteers who made our day so special. What a memorable and inspiring trip!
